I am a fiber artist working in New York City. When I’m not weaving, talking about weaving or studying weaving, I’m teaching weaving as a NYSCA Grant recipient at LAND gallery in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.
My work explores the balance between extremes, both in art and life. Whether seeking out materials to repurpose, contrasting natural and synthetic yarns or thinking beyond the frame, the woven world is the portal through which I look at life’s outer limits and seek to find the middle path between them. In my practice, I activate the juxtapositions between structure and freedom, natural versus synthetic, and solitude versus collaboration. In doing so, I hope to highlight places of connection.
I also share my love of weaving and teaching as an active Board Member of Intertwine Arts.
